About Us

An independent guide to the world’s finest candles

LuxuryCandlesBrands exists because luxury home fragrance is unusually hard to shop for. The products are expensive, they cannot be meaningfully tested before purchase, and the specifications that actually determine performance, wax composition, fragrance load, burn hours, are either buried or not published at all.

We built this site to put that information in one place. We review 12 luxury candle houses against five fixed criteria, publish the weighting we use, and explain what each score means. Where a brand is excellent we say so; where an expensive candle underperforms, we say that too.

What we cover

Our 2026 ranking covers the houses that define the category, from Lumond’s hand-thrown German ceramics through Trudon, in continuous production since 1643, to contemporary names like Byredo and Loewe. Alongside the rankings we publish 5 practical guides on wax types, scent throw, candle care and gifting.

How we stay independent

No brand pays for placement and no brand can buy a higher score. Scores are produced against the published weights on our methodology page before any commercial consideration enters the process. Outbound links to brand sites carry a nofollow attribute.

A note on our photography

The imagery on this site is original art direction commissioned for LuxuryCandlesBrands. It is illustrative of each house’s aesthetic and material language rather than a photograph of a specific product, and it does not reproduce any brand’s trademarks, labels or packaging. For product photography, follow the link to the brand’s own site on any review page.

Get in touch
